The island has superb beaches all the way around and spectacular views from the mountain range which runs along the North side. The island is not volcanic and the beaches have golden sand.

The capital city is Palma and worth the 40 minute drive from Port de Pollensa. The Cathedral is particularly famous overlooking the sea, it dates from the 13th century. Bellver castle dating from the 14th century, high up on a hill is about 3Km from the city centre.

Also worth a visit in Palma is the Almundaina Palace which contains many 16th and 17th century Spanish works of art. For the younger clientele Pacha, in Palma is one of the biggest and best clubs in the Med.

Closer to the apartment Inca market is the biggest open market on the island and is held every Thursday morning. Formentor in the North East most tip of the Island is a very pretty unspoilt bay, great for swimming and spectacularly surrounded by pine forests. You can take a boat from Port de Pollensa to Formentor - it is only about 15 minutes journey and the boat leaves from the Marina. Cala Sant Vicence is another pretty resort near to the apartment.

Mallorca is a walker's paradise, near to the apartment you can walk the Boquer Valley, walk over to Cala Sant Vicence or ascend the Puig de Santuiri where you get great views of Pollensa and Port de Pollensa. For the more ambitious walker you can attempt some of all of the 140km GR221 which goes over and through the Tramuntana mountains from Port de Pollensa to Port Andratx.
